Significantly Fewer Hospitals Have Implemented Electronic Health Records Systems Than Previously Estimated, Report Finds (Medical News Today)
Just 1.5% of U.S. hospitals have implemented facility-wide comprehensive health care information technology systems and another 8% to 11% of hospitals have at least one unit fitted with basic health IT systems, according to a study published on Thursday in the New England Journal of Medicine, the AP/Austin American-Statesman reports.

New Mexico House Passes New Electronic Medical Records Law To Ensure Patient Privacy (Medical News Today)
The New Mexico House of Representatives passed an electronic medical records bill today that would require security and privacy protections associated with the use of electronic medical records. SB 278, sponsored by Sen. Peter Wirth, is part of the Governor’s legislative health reform agenda, which includes insurance reforms, electronic medical records, and public insurance consolidation.
